'Weekend Away' is our annual retreat taking place this weekend in Wales. It gives our students an opportunity to spend time away from the hustle and bustle of university life, alone in God’s presence. The weekend consists of seminars, workshops, group activities and private time for prayer. This year's theme is experiencing God.

  8. “Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:”- Ephesians 2:5-6 (KJV) Jesus has accomplished what is required for us to have the full right of sonship. On the Cross, He carried all our sins, shame and reproach. He took it all upon Himself willingly. Jesus was forsaken by God, as He bore our sins on the cross. The judgement and condemnation meant for you and I was placed upon Him. As Jesus died, we died in Him, so also, we were raised to life in Him, when God raised Him from the dead. This is the reason why, to be born again, all we need to do is to receive Jesus into our lives as our Lord and Saviour. “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”- 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV) So, one reality of redemption is that we have to be in Christ to become a new person. We have to be in Christ to be born again. We have to be in Christ to be sons of God. Being in Christ means that you and I have become one with Him. You and I must always remember that if you are born again, you are in Christ. “For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.”- Colossians 3:3 (KJV) As believers, we must always see ourselves in Christ Jesus. When Jesus arose, we were made alive with Him. As He was quickened, we were quickened with Him also. We have God's life: Zoe, on the inside of us. The life that made God, the eternal God; the indestructible life. As believers, we have been raised together with Christ. We are now seated at the right of God with Him, since we have become united with Him. We have been raised to a new dimension of glory with Him; seated with Him in the heavenly places, far above principality and power. What you are above, you are above. What you are above, you have authority and dominion over. We are above, and not just above, but far above all principality and power. So you and I are seated in higher realm, above all principality and power, we have authority over them. This is the reality of our redemption. We must live and walk with this understanding. We must see ourselves in this light, we must live with boldness, we must exude confidence. We must be strong in the Lord by default and not be a weakling. We must not go by our feelings, we must always act based on our revelation of the truth. We must go by the realities of the resurrection life that Jesus has purchased for us. God bless you.

    He Is Risen!

EASTER SUNDAY HE IS RISEN! SUNDAY 05 TH OF APRIL 2015 “And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.”- Matthew 28:5 6 (KJV) Jesus is alive for ever more. He is not dead, neither is He in the grave. The Lord Jesus has offered Himself as the propitiation for our sins. He, the begotten son of God, took all our sins upon Himself. Though He was without sin, He took upon himself the sins of humanity and so He was consequently condemned to death. He chose to die for us, so that He could set us free from the power of the devil. Jesus demonstrated mastery over death and through this destroyed the power the devil exercises to keep us separated from God. Jesus, even in death, could not be overpowered by being kept away in the grave. This is because He was on a mission by God to redeem humanity. He emptied Himself to fulfil God's agenda, so God became everything to Him and for Him. He totally let go of Himself, His pride, His dignity, His status and His life for the sake of fulfilling God's will. Consequently, God backed Him up, and raised Him from the dead. His death was a proof of His commitment to His mission on earth; a complete submission to God and the love He has for humanity. Today, His sacrifice has brought hope for you and me among countless number of people over the ages. God is faithful; He would not abandon Jesus in the grave. God is faithful; He would not allow the humiliation and suffering Jesus willingly underwent to be permanent, but short lived. Jesus today has been made The Lord of all, and the saviour of all! He is risen, and He lives forevermore. He is available to all who seek for Him. He has become the life giver to all who are dead and hopeless. He has become the sole determinant of the course and the eternal destiny of everyone; it is no longer in the hands of the devil. No one needs to live in fear of the devil and its forces anymore, if only we accept Jesus; sacrifice and submit to Him. We need to live daily with the understanding of this truth. “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”- Hebrews 2:14,15 (KJV) It is also true that, you and I can totally let go of ourselves to God without the fear of God letting us down. We can allow a temporary sacrifice in order that God may empower us for exploits! We can let go of our pleasure, our comfort, and our ego etc, it will only be for a short while, for the sake of God using us for His glorious purpose. Our temporary period of obscurity will surely culminate in our attaining, and being brought to a glorious limelight as we co-operate with God and allow Him full control of our lives and our affairs. As we receive the Spirit of Christ, and allow the same Spirit freedom in us, we are sure to receive God';s constant divine quickening. So will we remain ever relevant, bringing lives to an encounter with God at all times. A life that will be a blessing is a life handed over to God. And the more yielded to God we are, the more blessing we will be to humanity and our World. HAPPY EASTER God bless you!
